Updating Breaking News: School bus overturns in Marion County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this afternoon in Marion County that resulted in a school bus overturning.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 3:06 pm, a school bus driven by a 62-year-old Ocala woman was traveling west on County Road 464 approaching SE 55th Place, within the outside lane.
The driver stated that traffic ahead came to an abrupt stop. She attempted to avoid colliding with the vehicles ahead by maneuvering onto the north grass area.
The bus continued to travel west on the grass area while rotating clockwise, overturning onto its left side on the north grass area.
Upon the FHP's arrival, the bus was on its left side on the grass area.
A total of 18 children were in the bus at the time of crash. Four of the children were transported to Advent Health of Ocala.
The FHP did not release any details about the injuries to the childern on the bus.
