Updating Breaking News: Pedestrian hit and killed by vehicle in Brevard County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision yesterday in Brevard County that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 5:49 pm, an 86-year-old Indialantic man, driving a 2012 Fiat 500, was traveling southbound on State Road A1A, approaching Eau Gallie Boulevard.

At the same time, an 81-year-old Indian Harbor Beach woman was crossing A1A, not in a marked path, and into the direct path of the vehicle. As a result, they collided.

The pedestrian was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center and pronounced deceased.

The crash remains under investigation.

The FHP did not release the name of the driver or the pedestrian involved in the collision.
