A 41-year-old Orlando woman was killed Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at State Road 520 and Maxim Parkway in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:33 p.m.
FHP reported that a 24-year-old Indialantic man was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry east on State Road 520 as he approached Maxim Parkway in the outside lane. Investigators said the Camry was traveling above the posted speed limit and failed to stop at a red light.
At the same time, the Orlando woman was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer north on Maxim Parkway in the inside left-turn lane. As she attempted to turn left and travel west on State Road 520, the front of the Camry struck the left side of her vehicle, according to FHP.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Camry driver was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the report stated. Their names were not released.
The crash remains under investigation.
