Updating Breaking News: One dead, one seriously injured after motorcycle collides with vehicle in Volusia County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this afternoon in Volusia County that resulted in the death of a passenger on a motorcycle.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:11 pm, a crash occurred at the intersection of State Road 11 and Spring Garden Avenue in Deland.

Preliminary evidence shows this crash involved a 2024 Subaru Forester and a 2018 Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

The sequence of events that lead to this crash are still under investigation.

The motorcycle rider, 39-year-old Palm Coast man was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center with serious injuries.

The motorcycle passenger, a 39-year-old woman from Palm Coast was pronounced deceased on-scene.

This crash remains under investigation.

The FHP did not release the names of the driver, motorcyclist, or passenger involved in the crash.
