Updating Breaking News: Motorcyclist dies after collision with vehicle in Osceola County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision yesterday in Osceola County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 4:14 pm, a 25-year-old Orlando man riding a Honda motorcycle was traveling eastbound, above the posted speed limit, on the south sidewalk of Simpson Road east of Boggy Terrace Drive.
At the same time, a 27-year-old Orlando man driving a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer was traveling eastbound on Simpson Road east of Boggy Terrace Drive. As they approached, the second driver made a right turn onto the driveway access to a residence. As a result, the motorcycle and vehicle collided.
The impact caused the second vehicle to be pushed onto the sidewalk.
The motorcyclist was transported to UCF Lake Nona Hospital and pronounced deceased. The second driver reported no injuries to the FHP.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the motorcyclist's or driver's name involved in the collision.
