Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision yesterday in Marion County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 2:18 pm, a 36-year-old Ocala man riding a motorcycle was traveling west on SE 95th Street Road, and a 68-year-old Leesburg man driving a sport utility vehicle was traveling east on SE 95th Street Road.
As they approached, the SUV made a left turn onto SE 170th Avenue, entering the motorcycle's path, and they collided.
According to the report, the motorcyclist died in the crash, while the SUV driver reported no injuries.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or motorcyclist involved in the collision.
