Updating Breaking News: FHP looking for hit-and-run driver after collision with pedestrian in Citrus County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a hit-and-run incident yesterday in Citrus County that resulted in a Citrus Springs man suffering serious injuries.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 5:40 p.m., a Toyota pickup operated by an unknown driver was traveling northbound on North Golfview Drive. 

North of West Tee Circle, a 21-year-old Citrus Springs man was walking northbound along the left side of the roadway. For unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled into the southbound lane, collided with the pedestrian, and continued away from the crash scene without stopping. 

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital. 

Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to call *FHP (*347) or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.

The FHP did not release the name of the injured pedestrian.
