Updating Breaking News: Motorcyclist dies after two-vehicle collision in Brevard County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this evening in Brevard County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:31 pm a crash occurred on US-1 south of Harbor Oak Lane in Titusville, Brevard County. Preliminary evidence shows a 2019 RAM 1500) was stopped, facing west at the stop sign of US-1 and the Manatee Hammock Campground.

At the same time, a 2009 Honda VT750 Motorcycle was traveling northbound on US-1 south of Harbor Oak Lane in the outside lane.

As they approached, the first vehicle proceeded forward in an attempt to make a left turn on US-1 and entered the direct path of the motorcycle.

As a result, the left side of the first vehicle struck the motorcycle.

The driver of the first vehicle, a  66-year-old man from Eaton, Ohio, was not injured and remained on-scene.

The motorcyclist (male – pending identification) was transported to Parrish Hospital and pronounced deceased. A passenger on the motorcycle (female – pending identification) was airlifted to ORMC with serious injuries but is in stable condition.

The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passengers involved in the crash.

This crash remains under investigation.
