Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision yesterday in Citrus County that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 11:10 am, a Chrysler Pacifica, driven by an 83-year-old man from The Villages, was traveling northbound on US-41.
North of South Pendant Point, the driver lost control, departed the roadway, and collided with a tree.
Transported to an area hospital, the driver later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver involved in the crash.
