Traffic Alert: Wildfire closes SR-19 in Marion County

Motorist Advisory:

A large-scale wildfire west of SR 19 and north of SR 40 in the Ocala National Forest in Marion County continues to emit smoke and may do so overnight.

Due to the projected overnight weather forecast and the potential mixture of residual smoke in the area, SR 19 will be closed. Motorists traveling in and around this area are reminded to reduce their speed and utilize low-beam headlights to adapt to changing weather conditions, as visibility may deteriorate quickly, especially during the night and early morning hours.

Detour Routes for this road closure are as follows: Northbound motorists will go west on SR 40 to north CR 314 A to north on CR 314 to SR 19. Southbound will go south on CR 314 to south CR 314A to eastbound SR 40 to SR 19.
