Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this morning in Baker County that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, a preliminary investigation reveals that a sedan had been involved in a crash that left it disabled in the outside travel lane of Interstate 10 westbound.
At the same time, a tractor-trailer driven by a 35-year-old Valdosta, GA man was traveling westbound, approaching the sedan, also in the outside travel lane.
The first vehicle's driver exited and was standing near it. The tractor-trailer collided with the rear of the sedan and the driver.
The two vehicles came to a final rest on the north shoulder of I-10. The driver of the sedan was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.
Identification of the deceased driver is still pending.
