Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this morning in Lake County that resulted in the death of a driver and two passengers.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 3:16 am, a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 30-year-old Mount Dora woman, was traveling northbound on State Road 19 south of Saint Florian Lane. As she approached, the driver failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and ran off the roadway right. As a result, the vehicle struck a pole on the right shoulder and overturned several times.
This impact caused the driver and all three passengers to be ejected from the vehicle. The driver and one of the passengers (a 32-year-old Eustis woman) were pronounced deceased on the scene. Two other passengers were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. One of the passengers (a 28-year-old Eustis woman) was later pronounced deceased. The other passenger (a 26-year-old Eustis woman) is currently in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passengers involved in the collision.
