Breaking News Overnight: Single-vehicle collision in Seminole County kills passenger, injures driver

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Seminole County last night that resulted in the death of a passenger.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:24 Tuesday, a 2017 Porsche Boxter driven by a 20-year-old Winter Springs man was traveling westbound on Brumley Road approaching White Tail Trail. As he approached, the driver failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the roadway onto the south shoulder, and ran off the roadway to the left.

The vehicle traveled into a ditch and struck a tree, causing it to overturn multiple times. The driver was able to exit the vehicle before it became engulfed in flames. The passenger, a 20-year-old Oviedo man, was entrapped inside the vehicle.

The driver was transported to Oviedo Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger was pronounced deceased at the crash scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

The FHP did not release the names of the driver or the passenger involved in the crash.
