Breaking News Overnight: Pedestrian hit and killed by vehicle in Marion County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle last night in Marion County.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:35 p.m., a 27-year-old Reddick woman was traveling south on US 441 in the outside lane approximately 700 feet south of SE 3rd Avenue.

At the same time,a 52-year-old Ocala man was standing in the outside southbound lane of US 441, south of V01's location.

As they approached, the driver did not observe the pedestrian in the roadway and continued southbound until she collided with the man in the outside southbound lane of US 441.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene by Marion County Fire Rescue Paramedics.

The FHP did not release the name of the driver or the pedestrian.
