Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision last night in Citrus County that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:50 pm, a Chevy Colorado, driven by a 28-year-old Crystal River man, was traveling southbound on South Suncoast Boulevard (US-19).
Within the 3400 block of South Suncoast Boulevard, a 66-year-old Homosassa man attempted to walk across the highway. The pedestrian entered the vehicle's path and was struck.
Transported to an area hospital, the pedestrian later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or pedestrian involved in the crash.
