Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision last night in Citrus County that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:50 pm, a Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by a 24-year-old Hernando man was traveling northbound on SR-200.
North of East Buffalo Lane, a 66-year-old Ocala man attempted to walk across the highway. The pedestrian entered the path of the vehicle and was struck by it, suffering fatal injuries at the crash scene.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or pedestrian involved in the crash.
