From the Florida Highway Patrol
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision in Lake County last night that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:01 pm, a 2014 Toyota Camry driven by a 58-year-old Clermont woman was traveling westbound on US-192 approaching Town Center Boulevard in the outside lane.
At the same time, an 18-year-old Davenport man was walking in a northerly direction and entered the westbound lanes of US-192 in the direct path of the vehicle, and not in a marked crosswalk. As a result, the fron of the vehicle struck the pedestrian.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to Four Corners Emergency Room suffering from minor injuries, according to the report. The edestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
This crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or the pedestrian.
