Breaking News Overnight: Pedestrian dies in collision with vehicle in Volusia County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision last night in Volusia County that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:02 pm Friday, a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle driven by a 64-year-old Naples man was traveling eastbound on US-92 approaching Roosevelt Boulevard in the outside lane in Daytona Beach.
At the same time, a male adult was walking in the eastbound outside lane of US-92.
As the vehicle approached, the pedestrian entered its direct path, not in a crosswalk. As a result, they collided.
The driver and passenger remained on the scene and did not report any injuries to the FHP.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver, passenger, or deceased pedestrian.
The crash remains under investigation.
