Breaking News Overnight: One dead, six injured after a two-vehicle collision in Marion County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Marion County that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:08 pm, a 46-year-old Oviedo man driving a sedan was traveling south on Interstate 75 in the center lane. Due to a previous crash, a van driven by a 71-year-old Ocala man was disabled and obstructing the center lane.
As it approached, the sedan driver did not observe the van in time and struck its rear section with its front section.
All southbound lanes were obstructed for several hours due to the investigation.
Both drivers and five passengers in the van were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment, where the van driver was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The crash is pending further investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passengers involved in the collision.
