Breaking News Overnight: Motorcyclist dies after collision with tow truck in Volusia County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Volusia County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:18 pm, a 2022 Royal Enfield Motorcycle driven by a 21-year-old Deland man was traveling westbound on Interstate 4 at Mile Marker 119 in the center lane.
At the same time, a 2024 International MV607 Tow Truck was traveling westbound on I-4 at Mile Marker 119 in the outside lane.
As they approached, the motorcyclist changed lanes from the center to the outside and failed to observe the tow truck ahead. As a result, it struck the rear of the vehicle.
The motorcyclist was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center via Air Care and later pronounced deceased.
The tow truck driver did not report any injuries to the FHP.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or motorcyclist involved in the collision.
