From the Florida Highway Patrol
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Alachua County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8 pm, a 46-year-old Newberry man driving a Ford F-350 pickup truck attempted to make a left turn across SR 45 in an F350.
At the same time, a 19-year-old Archer man was traveling north on SR 45 on a motorcycle and attempted to lawfully pass vehicles when it collided with the pickup.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the collision scene. The pickup driver reported no injuries to the FHP.
The FHP did not release the names of the pickup driver or motorcyclist involved in the crash..
