Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this morning in Marion County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 12:20 a.m., a 43-year-old Silver Springs man riding a motorcycle was traveling northbound on SE 183rd Avenue Road, navigating a left turn just south of SE 26th Street.
As it approached, the motorcycle ran off the roadway to the right and collided with a concrete mailbox and fence.
The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist.
