Breaking News Overnight: Driver dies after a single-vehicle collision in Volusia County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision last night in Volusia County that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:17 pm, a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder sport utility vehicle driven by an 55-year-old DeLeon Springs man was traveling north on US Highway 17, south of Nolan Road.
As it approached, the SUV ran off the roadway onto the east shoulder, traveled northwest across the northbound travel lane off Highway 17, began rotating and then overturned, ejecting the driver.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the crash scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver involved in the collision.
