From the Florida Highway Patrol
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this morning in Orange County that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 1:22 am, a 2023 Hyundai Elantra was traveling northbound on Epcot Center Drive north of Overpass Road.
According to the report, the vehicle was traveling above the posted speed limit and failed to negotiate a curve. As a result, the vehicle ran off the roadway, struck a tree, and was engulfed in flames.
The driver, who was not identified in the report, was pronounced deceased at the crash scene.
This crash remains under investigation.
