Breaking News Overnight: One dead, one seriously injured after a two-vehicle collision in Orange County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision in Orange County this morning that resulted in the death of a driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 12:17 am, a 2025 Volkswagen Atlas driven by a 56-year-old Crowley, TX man was traveling southbound on US-441 (Orange Blossom Trail) approaching Hunters Creek Boulevard in the center lane.

At the same time, a 2012 Mazda 3 driven by a 55-year-old Orlando man was stopped for a traffic signal facing south on OBT at Hunter's Creek Boulevard in the center lane.

According to several witnesses, the first vehicle's driver was traveling above the posted speed limit, failed to observe the second vehicle, and collided with the rear of the Mazda.

Both drivers were transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center. According to the FHP report, the first driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the second driver was later pronounced deceased.

The driver was traveling above the posted speed limit, failed to negotiate a curve, and ran off the roadway. As a result, the vehicle struck a stop sign, trees, and a wire fence and then began overturning.

The crash remains under investigation

The FHP did not release the drivers' names involved in the crash.
