Breaking Morning News: Single-vehicle collision in Highlands County kills driver

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this morning in Highlands County that resulted in the driver's death.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 11:04 am, a 76-year-old Sebring man driving a pickup truck was traveling north on County Road 721, approaching the intersection of US-98.
As it advanced, the vehicle failed to stop for the posted sign and continued north through the intersection, entered the north grass shoulder of US-98, became airborne and collided with a tree.
After the collision, the driver was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the driver's name involved in the collision.
