Breaking Morning News: One dead, one seriously injured after a two-vehicle collision in Suwannee County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this morning in Suwannee County that resulted in the death of a driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:24 am, a 19-year-old Fort White woman driving a sedan was traveling westbound on US Highway 27.

At the same time, a 40-year-old Florahome man driving a sport utility vehicle was traveling eastbound on US Highway 27.

As they approached, two vehicles crashed in a head-on collision on US Highway 27.

The SUV driver was pronounced deceased on scene.

The sedan driver was transported to UF Health in Gainesville with serious injuried, according to the FHP report.

The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the collision.
