Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this morning in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:10 a.m., a Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by a 38-year-old Land O Lakes man, was traveling northbound on Pasco Road at a high rate of speed.
North of State Road 52, the operator failed to negotiate a curve, departed the roadway, and struck a light pole.
Transported to an area hospital, the motorcyclist later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
The FHP did not release the motorcyclist involved in the collision.
