Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash this morning in Citrus County that resulted in a driver suffering injuries and another colliding into a mobile home.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 6 am, a single-unit pumping truck, driven by a 25-year-old Seymour, Tennessee man, was traveling eastbound on Lecanto Highway.
At the same time, a single-unit garbage truck, driven by a 30-year-old Citrus Springs man, was traveling eastbound on Lecanto Highway ahead of the first vehicle.
As they approached, the second vehicle slowed to turn left onto North Paradise Point. The first vehicle failed to slow down and struck the rear of the second vehicle.
Upon impact, the first vehicle overturned and caught fire, while the second vehicle was propelled forward and collided with a mobile home located on the 7000 block of North Paradise Point.
The first driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, whereas the second driver was unharmed during the incident.
Two adult residents at the mobile home suffered no injuries during the incident.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or residents involved in the crash.
