Breaking Morning News: Driver dies after a two-vehicle collision in Marion County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this morning in Marion County that resulted in the death of a driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:40 a.m., a pickup truck driven by a 58-year-old Lutz man collided with a sedan driven by a 64-year-old Ft. McCoy man on NE 160th Avenue Road 0.4 miles south of NE 180th Street which resulted in the death of the sedan driver.

The roadway remained closed while the FHP investigated the crash. The roadway was re-opened at 10:09 AM. This incident remains under investigation.

In this report, the FHP did not release the names of the drivers or the passengers involved in the collision.
