A 43-year-old Weirsdale man was killed after his pickup truck ran off State Road 25 and overturned in Marion County on Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The man was driving a 2014 Chevrolet pickup south on State Road 25 at approximately 7 am, when he failed to negotiate a curve, FHP said. The pickup traveled onto the east shoulder before striking a utility pole and a fence and overturning.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the pickup. Marion County Fire Rescue pronounced him deceased at the scene.
FHP did not release the driver's name.
The crash remains under investigation.
