Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision this morning in Pinellas County between a pedestrian and a vehicle that resulted in the death of the pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 4:10 am, a Chrysler SRT, driven by a 22-year-old Largo man, was traveling southbound on 62nd Street North.
South of 148th Avenue North, a pedestrian was standing in the roadway for an unknown reason.
Unable to avoid a collision, the vehicle struck the 43-year-old Clearwater man, who suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver or the pedestrian.
